Welcome to our Geography class blog! Our activities on the blog will be in the green box located below. Read the activity and follow its instructions. World Geography – Here are the objectives for today: I can label our map of Southeast Asia, identifying the unlabeled countries and bodies of water of Southeast Asia. I can make connections and inferences about climate and landforms based on the information provided on the map. Tasks: Complete the labeling of the map of Southeast Asia using Google images. You may need to refer to several maps to identify all of the countries and bodies of water shown on the map. Then, click on this link to play Geography games that will reinforce and expand your knowledge of topics we have studied. Have fun!

World Geography – Here are the objectives for today: I can explain China’s One Child Policy and how it has changed recently. I can use my knowledge of World Geography to play trivia games online and do well. Task: Click on the following link to read an article about changes to China’s One Child Policy. In the comments box on the class blog, explain in a paragraph what changes have recently been made and why. Then, click on the following link to play geography games online. Report two games that you played and your results! Have fun!

World Geography – Here are the objectives for today: I can label our map of Europe, identifying the unlabeled countries of Eastern Europe. I can identify key facts related to the genocide that occurred in the former Yugoslavia. Tasks: Complete the labeling of the map of Europe using Google images. Then, click on this link to read about the genocide that occurred in the former Yugoslavia. Write down key information under cultural geography on the handout we used yesterday. World Geography – Here are the objectives for today: I can identify three countries of Latin America that do not speak Spanish. Tasks: First, click on this link to go to the CIA World Factbook. Explore the interactive map on the home page to look more closely at countries in Latin America. Identify three countries that do NOT have Spanish as an official language and report them in the comments section of the blog. Explore the site to learn more about those countries you listed and others. When you are done, you may also go to Sheppardsoftware.com to take take a tutorial and learn about Latin American countries.

World Geography – Here are the objectives for today: I can identify physical and cultural facts about the Pacific Northwest. First, click on this link to go to a website with a PowerPoint about the Pacific Northwest. The PowerPoint is the third option on the list. Read over the PowerPoint and summarize the physical and cultural facts you found to be important in a paragraph. Write the paragraph in the comments box on the class blog. Then, click on the following link to read an article about NASA’s report that the United States might experience Super Droughts in the future. When you are done, type a 1 paragraph reaction to what you learned.
